Worklife: A Philosophical Guide
Under contract with Princeton University Press, Worklife is an examination of the role work plays in contemporary life, and a proposal for when — and how — we should integrate it with our quest for meaningful, happy lives.
Sheedy Family program in Economy, enterprise, and society
I founded and now direct The Sheedy Family Program with my colleagues Chris Hedlin and Brett Beasley. The program, which has more than tripled in size over the past three years, is an intellectual community — complete with its own distinctive curriculum — that serves more than one hundred students every year with plans to grow to more than 10x its original size. The Good Life Method
“The Good Life Method” is a book based on a popular first philosophy course I created at Notre Dame with Meghan Sullivan called “God and the Good Life.” It’s available wherever books are sold, and you can find resources related to the book (for book clubs and educators, etc) here.
“At once revolutionary and conservative...positively warm, oddly free of moralizing, welcoming of disagreement and engagement.”
“[A] wise and accessible guide . . . entertaining and insightful . . . Those pondering the perennial question of how to live a good life should start here.”
“’Make religion attractive,’ Pascal remarked, cryptically, in the Pensées. That remark came to mind again and again as I read The Good Life Method; individually, collaboratively, energetically, enthusiastically, Meghan Sullivan and Paul Blaschko make philosophy attractive. ”
